7th: Arushi's Zara fur-panel coat+F21 necklace. I liked the coat, but everyone else insists that she looks like a Russian mobster's assistant. She embraced the title with more than the normal amount of enthusiasm.

8th: iPhone+Malavika's ring.

9th: "Avalanche" at Olive, Hotel Diplomat (creative name, no?). That glass was heaven.

10th: "Something fancy and spanish chicken" along with picture number 9.

Thanks to all my followers and every one who has ever given me a comment. Now, excuse me, I need to get back to the books and also sign up for driving lessons. There is no way I'm letting my mom teach me how to drive. I'll end up crippled before I even get in the car.

Finally, the second follow-up post of Guru Italy.

In the previous post I was wearing GI boyfriend jeans and I really wanted to show you guys what this tee looks like when worn but since I'm still not feeling well, I didn't want to get out of bed. I spend all my time tweeting inane things, watching random shows on Sidereel, following various Ryan Gosling tumblrs and then sleeping for 12 hours straight. It is the age of technology and lazy motherfuckers.

This top was my second choice from the brand. It's a part of the Paramount collection and it's out in stores now. They have a bunch of other t-shirts with a different quote from a different movie. As much as I liked the women's collection I kept veering towards the men's because, you know...I like baggy things A LOT. But what I liked most was the store itself. The design and decoration was so insanely cool. You should stop by the store and check it out for yourselves! Plus, they give teeny teddy's with every purchase along with a lookbook and diary too. My teddy has a little satchel and everything.

Diwali was especially pretty this year, mostly because there were fewer fireworks and more diyas, candles and lights. This is what I wore for dinner that night at Yellow Brick Road with my family and a couple close friends. I've got a horrible cold right now and I'm using a shit ton of willpower and focus for this post because the laptop screen basically looks like swirls and kaleidoscopic prints...maybe I have something more than just a flu.

Anywho, there will be a new post soon. I'll expound more on my collaboration with Guru Italy in that one.

Greetings one and all! Finished my exams a week ago and just got back from Muscat, Oman (t'was fun) so I have a very good reason for not posting. Sometime during the exams Arushi, Malavika and I went to check out the Lacoste autumn winter collection. We got to browse through racks of classics-revamped, met other awesome bloggers and even try on the pieces we best liked. We also drank orange juice. There was a complimentary dinner later on in the evening, unfortunately we couldn't go because we had to study so we stopped at Flavours (great Italian food, the meat ball sauce is unbelievable) and ate really fast before driving back to our respective homes. Here are a couple pictures of the night:

It took everything we had to get Lesley to take a picture with us. She was adamant that hiding is more fun. Her cousin, Imsu, was so sweet and docile, but those were traits we noticed after spending half an hour staring at her shoes. Arushi kept nudging me in the elbows saying "I WANT THOSE NOW. GET THEM FOR ME. YANK THEM OFF HER FEET IF YOU MUST. WHY AREN'T YOU DOING THIS NOW WOMAN? HASTEN!" My ribs are bruised and ears deaf. Santu was there too, and every now and then he'd say ridiculous things until we stopped him and asked him about Lakme Fashion Week. Post again soon now that exams are over!

So, this is my last outfit from South Africa. Now the next post will probably in 2012 because of the ridiculous amount of exams that I have to give.

These shots were taken at our B'n'B's backyard. I wanted them next to the pool, but it was getting cleaned then, so I decided that greenery is the way to go. Notice how my hair is nice and shiny. But now it's gross and taking over my head because of the damn heat.

I might post again sometime after my first three exams, but no promises. I need to figure out a way of getting into college sans conning things and ma peeps at FIT. So anybody with any kind of tips on how to get into FIT without going to jail will be welcome to comment. The ones who don't have any tips, you can comment about the outfit. Kay?

It's raining you guys! It's still humid and gross, but it's still better than the previous weather we had here. I have a ton of studies to do for my upcoming exams, about 30 chapters, give or take. I am not lying. And each chapter is over 40 pages long, so the chances of me passing and getting above 70% marks is pretty slim. Also, my school has decided that from now on every UT will be similar to an end-of-term exam and so the students should get the entire book, minus maybe two chapters, for studying.

Let me just say, studying is not fun.

School's begun and it's been just two weeks and I'm already ready to drop out (already ready heh). Not because of my hate for my classes, but because the fucking heat is burning my clothes, skin and happiness. You get dressed for school early in the morning, looking like a normal human being and then two periods later you resemble a puddle of sweat. By 9:30, there are no more students, just puddles. If only they would realize that installing A/C's would mean 100% attendance and attention. But, of course, that is OUT OF THE QUESTION. Instead the logical thing to do is to install 50 billion cameras to watch the student puddles move from one field to another in the hope that a gust of wind might make them remember life.

It's been two weeks at Durban and everyday we go out somewhere to see something, someplace, or someone. I should say "Jesus Christ, just give it a rest", but really, it's loads of fun. Except for the part where my mom wanted to go on tourist buses to "experience the city", that was bull. The only thing I really miss from home is Zara, Lays Magic Masala (they have crap flavors here, all of them taste like classic salt) and free-parking.You could buy two magic masala's with the money we spend on parking.

Four words: I love South Africa. It is just the most beautiful, sunny, happy and clean country ever. Granted that I haven't been to very many places besides India and Hogwarts (it's true) but SA is amazing. Although, the flight was awful. Didn't get a wink of sleep because I had to deal with an incredibly uncomfortable seat and frequent passenger announcements. Emirates LOVES making announcements. I'm sure that one of the 20,000 was "I CAN FLY! WOOHOO!" Which is why I was grumpy throughout. As soon as we landed I wanted to shout "waka waka", but then...I didn't. Because I was dead on my feet.

Helloooo people. So, I'm off to South Africa for the summers and I will be returning after a couple odd weeks. Which is why I've been going slightly berserk with packing and planning for the trip over the last 7 days. I've never been good at packing unless it's weekend vacation, in which case you know exactly what and how many clothes you have to pack. When you have to pack for a trip that lasts over three weeks and you have no idea what you might need for an event, you tend to lose your shit.

On the plus side though, South Africa happens to be in the Southern Hemisphere (for those of you who didn't know this, return to 2nd grade. STAT) and that means that it's cold over there i.e. I won't sweat while sitting directly below an A/C i.e. I can wear blazers and jackets i.e. I AM A HAPPY HAPPY PERSON.

Sorry I haven't posted for so long, I'm really busy studying for my final exams. I wore this to my 'birthday party' with three of my other friends. We all basically just danced around in gold tinsel serenading to each other, eating pizza/ prawn pasta, taking pictures and then stopping the dog from choking on tinsel and red feathers.

Needless to say, we had a awesome time.

As promised, an outfit post! I've had this coat for over a year and it's one of the best things I own which is why I don't wear it often, because I'm afraid of ruining it. I'm extremely clumsy and the last thing I want on it is a stain that came from mayonaisse *shudder*

This beret is my sister's but I've got it well hidden and she's never going to find it again, so let's just say that this beret is MINE. It's really thick knit so it keeps me and my ears extremely warm whenever there's any wind.

ON TO OTHER MATTERS (and this is an official announcement) . From now on, I have decided that my digital camera is shitty and takes shitty pictures, so to eliminate all the shitty-ness that could/ would happen, ALEXIS J is now my photographer. Yes, she's a girl. No, she's not my boyfriend.

Hello one, hello all.

I've been really busy the past week doing all sorts of manual labor for a school event ~~nobody really cares about~~ and now, my feet are dead because I ran a hundred miles trying to do 10 different jobs. In other news, how awesome was the Lanvin + H&M collaboration? I've been visiting numerous blogs, looking at all the pretty pictures and I keep thinking about how badly I want to be in the H&M showroom as opposed to sitting on my revolving computer chair watching The Simpsons: Treehouse Of Horror.

On the second day at Jaipur, we all went to this place called Chawki Dhani. It was like a little village and there were all these rides and things going on there. There was a palmist sitting at one corner. Now my parents thought it would be funny if we went to him and had our palms read. I kept telling them that I wanted to go on a pony ride, but nobody listened to me. Now this guy tells me that I'm going to have about 12 kids. 6 in India and 6 elsewhere. I won't be going abroad because I don't trust airplanes and I will definitely die at the age of 75. Cause of death? I'll be murdered. The rest of my family is dying at the age of 75 too, but only I'm getting murdered. Go figure.

By the end of it, I'm glaring at him and he's all "Oh, but it's written in the cards. What can I do? And you have to pay me 50 bucks."

Jaipur was so much fun! The weather was great on the first day, but by nightfall it was fucking freezing. The hotel we stayed at was ridiculously awesome because it had huge lawns and this funky restaurant that was getting renovated. It had huts and little streams all around and towards the end there was a waterfall AND a bridge. There were little ducks in the water too. We went to all the main tourist spots and shopped a little (more on that later). Ahmer Fort had all these cool doors and paths that would lead to various dungeons and shit. There was one in particular that was really dark and had bats on the ceiling and poop on the ground. The only reason I'm mentioning it is because it had like these tiny little cells at the end which was where all the utensils and dead people where kept (I kid, I kid).

I'll post again with more pictures of the fort and the other places I visited.

PS: In my previous post I said something like "YOU GUYS, GEMMA WARD IS BACK". Well, that's not entirely true because that photo shoot was from 2005 only I didn't know that until my friend pointed that out to me like 10 minutes later on Fashion Gone Rogue. My bad.

I have an extremely embarrassing and extremely long story to tell you guys. The F21 India launch was this Saturday and everybody in New Delhi was super excited, because this meant that we can all get awesome stuff without having to sell our souls. The invite on Facebook said that the launch was going to take place in Ambiance Mall at whatever time. So we went to Ambiance Mall. Little did we know that there are two Ambiance Mall's. And they aren't close to each other, they are like THIS.

Before we knew this we walked up and down and scoured the entire mall in 5 inch heels and then called up some people and asked them where the store was. Soon enough they found out we were in the wrong mall and a whole bunch of derogatory texts followed, most of which went like this:

"Dude! U guys R soooo stoopid!!! Hahahaha! Suckerssssss"

Then we got into the car and left for the other Ambiance Mall, except we didn't know how to get there and neither did the driver. So we were basically going round and round and stopping every five minutes asking people for directions. Then we ran out of petrol. Then we reached a village. Then we reached the airport. Then a Resident Welfare Association. Then some random place with a sign that said "City of Prosperity", except it was nothing more than a fucking ruin with street dogs and potholes.

Buuuut...we reached F21 eventually and it was like Christmas in there! So many pretty thing! I just bought a couple accessories and nothing more but I'll definitely be going back there to buy more pretty things.

Well, here you are. Like I promised. Pictures of the Fashion's Night Out India T-shirts. This is the shirt designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh, the one for men had a skull constructed out of swallows instead of flowers.

(This was the first time I actually tried to do some innovative editing. Normally I just crop shit out)

So sorry I haven't posted for ~~two weeks/~~ ~~one week?/~~ ~~five days?~~ ~~aw, fuck it~~...awhile. My exams are going on right now, and I've just finished Psychology, History and Political Science. Now we have a week or so for English and I never study for English because it's all way too easy, so I thought I'd do my good deed for the day by posting. Yes, I know. I'm very generous.

Today I went to school after about 78 days (I kid) of "falling ill" and "missing the bus" and I just found out that my first half-term exam is on Monday. This Monday. And I have about a dozen chapters coming, each the size of the tablet held by the Statue of Liberty. So, I think it's safe to say that I'M FUCKED. Which is why I haven't taken any pictures for an outfit post, so the following pictures will have to suffice.

I went shopping with two other friends (Smriti and Arushi) and took a bunch of pictures of them wearing all the accessories we bought.

When you don't have anything interesting to take pictures of, nails become your muse.

You remember how I had said that my friend was going to get herself a D90 and wanted to take a couple pictures with it? Turns out, she didn't get it. Mostly because...well, I don't know. When I asked her why, she said something that went like this: "I WANT THAT CAMERA. IT'S MEANT TO BE MINE. WHY IS THE WORLD SO UNJUST? FUCK YOU GUYS! Gaaaah, I'm a crazy woman. Back away now, before I rip you apart! MY CAMERA!!"

So, yeah. She didn't get the camera. Which means that she had to take pictures with an ordinary, "dull, deficient and noisy" old digital camera. The horror.

I'm wearing NEXT grey over-sized top, 1986 studded midnight blue skirt, Vansons nude platform heels and thrifted gold earrings.

Sometime during the last week I lost my USB cord, which meant that I couldn't put up outfit posts. So then I borrowed one from a friend of mine and transferred everything from the camera into the laptop. Anywho, during that one week, I (devoid of a USB cord and a useless camera) went on weheartit.com.

Everyday.

I searched a million things, most of which revolved around Harry Potter. I found some of the funniest images there. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Heaven's outta reach

Indian weather, for the most part is the humid and hot and sticky and please-let-me-sleep-under-the-A/C kind. So when winters are around the corner people tend to go crazy and spend a lot of money on clothes that are ridiculously awesome. And by people, I mean me. I want so many things this time, the list can be used to wallpaper my room.

I'll dedicate another post to what all I want for the upcoming months, but right now, let's focus on the things that on my other list, the one that features all those things that I would wear...

...OVER MY DEAD BODY

Not only is this an absurd design, but you literally can't wear it during any season. During the winters, you layer things and try to stay warm. In the summers, you strip down to your underwear and walk around with an ice tray in one hand and a mini fan in the other. This dress would've been so cute for the summers, but they've made it with winter in mind. Which brings me to another question...how can you wear this for the winters? It's fluffy, yes. But the lack of sleeves will make you wear 3 jackets on top. So then the bow detailing is pointless. You might as well be wearing rabbit. *shudders*

Now I'm going to pretend to be Rebecca Taylor when she made this jasket:

"Hmm...I've created a rather shmazzy silk vest. But it's not as shmazzy as I would like it to be. How do I make it more shmazzy? *bada bing* I KNOW! I'm going to stick faux fur tape on this! Genius, Rebecca, simply genius."

I love Thakoon. I love his designs, I love his prints and his clothes flatter a womans body so well. However...

This trench is not a trench. Don't let the buttons deceive you, readers. It is a TOWEL. That's right, a towel. You know how you wrap the towel around yourself after you take a shower and then you look in the mirror and think "If this were cotton, it would make a lovely dress." Well that's exactly what this is, except it's not a dress and it's most definitely not cotton. IT'S A TOWEL.

I'll post another outfit soon. My friend got a new D90 and DYING to use it.

Summers, part 2

I just finished watching the movie Feast of Love on Megavideo and now my keyboard is all wet because I bawled my brains out, which means that typing is now a task. But I can deal with it because this isn't the first time it's happened. The first time I saw the movie I cried so hard when Oscar/Toby Hemingway (HEART) died, that my mom literally had to wad through the room. True story.

Looking at him makes me want to say what my English teacher says 7 times a day: "Ah, yes".

Here are some pictures of what I wore for some random party where a bunch of old people talked about how the economy and I have both grown. Go figure, right?

This is last years Christmas tinsel. I'm not sure why I still have it.

Summers, part 1

During the Summers I went to my grandparents place in Kerala. The weather there was pretty nice, a little humid but otherwise decent. It rained pretty often, but I'm not complaining. I took a bunch of pictures because the place is soo beautiful and green. But it was good to come back home. As pretty as that place might be, I prefer skyscrapers to tree houses on coconut trees. Sue me.

We went to this place called Anakuta or something. Actually, I'm not sure what it's called, because the language there is a pain in the ass. Anyways, the place is a temple that looks after elephants, which are considered holy animals in Kerala. There were over 45 of them. It was kinda creepy to stand so close to them and their respective 3 foot long tusks. But you know me, nerves of steel.

School has begun. When will these people realize that a heat wave is going on and that it's TOO FUCKING HOT FOR SCHOOL!

You guys, you guys, you guys! The Fall 2010 Campaigns are out! Whee!! I love it when new campaigns are out. It makes such a refreshing change. Here are some of my favorites:

I'm a sucker for anything with Zoe Saldana and Alexa Chung.

I don't care if you have to tilt your head until it seems like it's parallel to your shoulders, this campaign is still really pretty.

I honestly can't see anything great about the campaign per se, except for the fact that it includes Kate Moss.

I love how Givenchy always manages to make it's ad campaigns so bold. Just the right amount of color. No going over board.
